South Florida Technology Alliance Supports ITWomen Charitable Foundation

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- ITWomen announced today its receipt of a generous donation from the South Florida Technology Alliance (SFTA) in support of the ITWomen Charitable Foundation's scholarship fund.

"This much appreciated donation from the SFTA proves that despite the challenging economy, great people will support worthy causes," said Victoria Usherenko, founder and president of ITWomen.

ITWomen is the premier South Florida organization dedicated to the advancement, advocacy, and development of professional women in technology. As part of its community outreach, the organization has also established the nonprofit ITWomen Charitable Foundation to provide college scholarships for young women who desire to study technology.

"SFTA is pleased to support ITWomen, a key strategic partner organization, in this worthy endeavor. Our membership sponsors and the technology companies doing business in South Florida all recognize the importance of growing technology talent locally," said Chris Burgio, SFTA President.

The SFTA donation, along with others, will provide scholarship support to a woman entering a technology-based course of study at a college or university in the fall of 2009. ITWomen has provided scholarships totaling over $100,000 to 26 students in the past 5 years.
